I always go to VIV when I’m in the mood for Thai food. The vibe here is just so great!

Taking the kids to their baseball or flag football games, have a catch, play basketball, pickle ball, tennis…

I’ve spent years trying to crack the code on health and fitness. There have been plenty of stepping stones along the way, but MFF is where things really clicked. I learned how to set goals I can actually reach, how to stay consistent, how to stop being intimidated by the gym, and how to not take it all so seriously. This place gave me a foundation I can actually build on — and reminded me how good it feels to show up for yourself.

The age-old question of where should we meet is almost always answered with VERS. From their excellent happy hour, their yummy snacks, to their late night vibes, sexy underwear party and great cabaret and drag shows. This place is upscale enough to come for a pre-show drink, but fun enough to get rowdy with your friends. Perfect spot so close by!

I love that in the middle of Manhattan you can suddenly find a place that feels peaceful and surrounded by nature. I discovered this park while walking around the neighborhood when my parents were visiting me in New York. We were all fascinated by it — how calm it felt and how it exists thanks to the community that cares about it. It’s one of those little hidden places that make the city feel special. I haven’t been there in a while and I really miss it there.

I love the Hudson River and spend a lot of time in Hudson River Park, especially Pier 84. It’s such an important green space for our neighborhood and we’re lucky to have it. I’ve spent so many afternoons there with my daughter at the water sprays when she was younger and now with a good book she’s older. As a member of the park’s Advisory Council, I’m especially excited about the improvements coming. It’s only going to make an already special place even better.

Sullivan Street Bakery (both locations) has basically become our campaign headquarters. Jim and Maya are a big part of what makes Hell’s Kitchen so special and they’ve created a place where people gather and feel at home. Their breads and soups got me through this frigid winter and I love walking in and seeing familiar faces. Also, they might have the best playlists in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite health food store in the city so I’m so happy to have it close to home. I’ve been going here for 26 years and will continue to go for their incredible organic produce, snacks, supplements and clean products.

Incredible food, great atmosphere and staff. Jim Lahey, the owner, is a passionate foodie who travels the world looking for great food, and he loves this neighborhood.
