Luisa and Nicki curate the most beautiful array of gifts. Walking into the shop brings me joy. What makes the experience so unique is the fact that any time you admire an object, Luisa and Nicki can tell you a story about the artisan who made it, whether it’s someone in Hell’s Kitchen or from Thailand.

Corner Slice at Gotham West Market used to be the family go-to pizza joint. Ever since they closed, we have been looking for pizza of similar style — square shape, crispy bottom, cheesy crust — and we were so excited when we tried Emmy. It was everything we were looking for and better. We really enjoy the Colony pizza. The combination of pickled jalapeños and honey is just fireworks in the mouth — a balance between heat and sweetness, and makes you want to go one bite after another.

The endless margarita and food options combined with the upbeat atmosphere is always a go-to when I want to “escape” into a world of (to quote Sweet Charity) fun, laughs, and good times. My favorite day to go is Taco Tuesday where you get 25% off of all tacos and empanadas!

This place is just mind-blowing and it’s somehow still a hidden gem despite being in the neighborhood for years. It’s not cheap, so definitely just for special occasions, but every meal here is an extraordinary event. World-class fine dining right here in Hell's Kitchen.

On the first Tuesday of every month, Green Apple Trivia hosts their Sustainability Trivia at Mercury Bar. This is the one and only NYC-based sustainability trivia league. With their new vegan menu items, it’s a fun night of learning and good bites.

I love Josephine’s, it's a nice treat. I have a neighbor who plays piano there at lunchtime, and I will go watch her and chat with her on her break.

It’s an oasis in midtown. My husband Tony and I have had a plot there for over 15 years. I like feeding the birds, seeing the bees, smelling all the flowers…

It’s a throwback to the days of Paddy’s Market. Walk in the door, and you are back into the 1940s. The scent of the spice bins is heavenly, but the best is when you order a chunk of feta cheese, and the wonderful attendant carves off a little piece of cheese, balances it on the tip of the knife blade, and extends it to you to taste. It’s such a charming moment!

Brunch time can’t happen at any other place. I also come here for beer and burgers because it is just down the block from my apartment. Jasper’s is one of the top five for me.
