Pier 84 Hudson River Park
There is no place as grounding for me as Pier 84. I love to go sit by the water and read or relax. It’s so peaceful and rarely crowded on the average day. They also have inexpensive kayak rentals available during the summer. I tried it once and was not very good, but I had a fun time!

Kare Thai
Another favorite restaurant is this small Thai spot on 10th Avenue. It’s a friendly family-run business, and they always make us feel welcome. You can’t go wrong with their moist chive pancakes, one of the vegan curries with mock duck and a mason jar of Thai iced tea.

Fountain House Gallery
Fountain House Gallery always has interesting programming. Around the holidays they do a show of artworks for under $100. I always buy a gift for someone and love that they support and nurture otherwise underserved artists.

Greywind
A lovely restaurant with a romantic lower level lounge — have a seat on the sofa by the fireplace.

Grind Coffee
Grind is a relatively new (at least for my long HK history) addition to Hell’s Kitchen. The coffee is very good and they have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch options. If you sit in the window, it makes for excellent people watching.

Amy's Bread
How can anyone resist Amy’s Bread for a sweet treat? Their carrot cake is hands down the best I’ve ever had in all of NYC!
Johnny de Triquet
Dim Sum Palace
Great place for quick dim sum, especially when the outdoor seating is available. The dishes come out fast and fresh, and if I ever get a craving, this is the first place I think of for a satisfying bite.

heno heno
Having a great local izakaya nearby just makes Hell’s Kitchen that much better. The food and drinks are always on point, and they recently opened a small speakeasy-style bar in the back that’s become one of my favorite spots to unwind.

B&D Halal #2
B&D Halal is new to Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve tried it twice already and quite enjoyed the various options. The flavors span several cultures and countries. Excellent for take out.

Añejo
The food is amazing and the service is always friendly. The vibe is lively and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Whether it’s their pollo adobado, spicy mezcal paloma or their delicious guacamole, I always leave happy!
