Mark Fisher Fitness
I’ve spent years trying to crack the code on health and fitness. There have been plenty of stepping stones along the way, but MFF is where things really clicked. I learned how to set goals I can actually reach, how to stay consistent, how to stop being intimidated by the gym, and how to not take it all so seriously. This place gave me a foundation I can actually build on — and reminded me how good it feels to show up for yourself.

Fresh From Hell
A Black owned juice and smoothie shop?? YES PLEASE!!! Fresh From Hell is great, from their acai bowls to their fresh juices and smoothies. This place keeps me feeling good and healthy! And did I mention that it’s Black owned?!

Delphinium Home
I have always loved the various Delphinium Home shops. The owners are great guys and I love having independently owned businesses in the neighborhood. Great place to find a last-minute gift or card.
Edward Love
Claudio's Pizza
My youngest son’s favorite quick stop to grab a slice or two to go.
Butch Phelps
VIV Thai
I always go to VIV when I’m in the mood for Thai food. The vibe here is just so great!

Delphinium Home
It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for a gift with character. The store is filled with so many unique items that I always have a blast exploring. It’s one of those places where you just want to buy everything!
Frank Diaz
Lincoln Center
This spot is not only meaningful to me and my community because of its San Juan Hill history (MCB4 actually attended a documentary screening about it), it's also where I got engaged — at the Paul Milstein Reflecting Pool. Beyond the pool and terrace, I love the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and the Philharmonic's lobby at David Geffen Hall, both of which are free and open to the public daily — and also great spots to get some work done while supporting the city's public spaces.
Rachel Lee
Amish Market
This is my favorite local supermarket for fresh produce. I love browsing the shelves, and often find unique items I wouldn’t expect to find in a typical grocery store.
Jamie Allan
Fat Boys Burgers
Founded by three Hell's Kitchen natives, whose family has run a deli in the neighborhood for years, they serve what I think is the closest to In-N-Out burgers, which the former Californian in me appreciates.

DeWitt Clinton Dog Run
As a rescue dog mom, any dog run is my happy place but I particularly like the one at DWC. I bring my dog Bailey here and in his younger years he could run for hours. Now 14, he just enjoys the canine company. It’s one of those places where you always end up chatting with neighbors and dog people are the best people. In a neighborhood like ours, I value having a space like this to just be outside and unplug.
