Hell’s Kitchen Local

I love that in the middle of Manhattan you can suddenly find a place that feels peaceful and surrounded by nature. I discovered this park while walking around the neighborhood when my parents were visiting me in New York. We were all fascinated by it — how calm it felt and how it exists thanks to the community that cares about it. It’s one of those little hidden places that make the city feel special. I haven’t been there in a while and I really miss it there.

This is my favorite local supermarket for fresh produce. I love browsing the shelves, and often find unique items I wouldn’t expect to find in a typical grocery store.

I have always loved the various Delphinium Home shops. The owners are great guys and I love having independently owned businesses in the neighborhood. Great place to find a last-minute gift or card.

I’ve spent years trying to crack the code on health and fitness. There have been plenty of stepping stones along the way, but MFF is where things really clicked. I learned how to set goals I can actually reach, how to stay consistent, how to stop being intimidated by the gym, and how to not take it all so seriously. This place gave me a foundation I can actually build on — and reminded me how good it feels to show up for yourself.

This place is well equipped with a huge pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym and studio. I love taking the water aerobics classes and working out there. I also love teaching Dance Cardio every Monday night at 7pm. All the people that come to my classes are pretty awesome. Their energy always has me leaving feeling better than when I arrived. It’s become a lovely community. People always stay and hang out after class.

BDC makes me happy because it’s a place I’ve always dreamed of. Even when I was very young in Argentina, I had heard about it and imagined what it would be like to take classes there. Now, being able to go whenever I want, take any class I want and learn from teachers who are truly amazing and rare gems — it’s honestly a dream come true. Just being able to walk through those doors feels like a dream.

As a native Texan, I am always on the hunt for wonderful tortillas. I am very pleased to proclaim this gem on 10th Avenue as not only really excellent authentic Mexican food, but also, and more importantly, homemade tortillas and salsas. Get the lengua and barbacoa! Shout out to Irma xo

Restaurant Row is one of those streets where you can find every cuisine imaginable, along with some great hidden gems. I especially love it at night, when the whole area comes alive with energy and so many delicious options to choose from!

Baking is something I genuinely enjoy, so I love walking into Amy’s Bread and smelling the freshly baked bread and pastries. It often inspires me to go home, get back into my own kitchen and try making something new.
