Hell’s Kitchen Local

I don’t find myself in bars too often (I’m such a morning person!), but Vers is definitely one of my more frequent nightlife haunts. I have many fond memories of grabbing drinks with friends here before seeing a Broadway show. I recently attended their monthly musical theatre trivia night and had a great time. I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable and was very much challenged.

Taking the kids to their baseball or flag football games, have a catch, play basketball, pickle ball, tennis…

Their burgers are honestly the best I’ve found in New York — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked every time. I love their fries just as much, and they’re always quick with takeout orders. It’s also great that they serve hotdogs at such an affordable price for a quick snack. And Charles, the owner, might be the nicest guy on earth.

Pier 84 gives me a chance to slow down and enjoy the waterfront with my family. I love watching the boats, taking in the open views and sometimes letting my mind wander toward a new adventure for Max.

B&D Halal is new to Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve tried it twice already and quite enjoyed the various options. The flavors span several cultures and countries. Excellent for take out.

The most authentic Mexican food in NYC. The food and staff are great, and I love having the choice between the sit-down dining room or the takeaway counter when I’m in a rush.

This fairly new massage parlor right by my building couldn’t be any better. Their practitioners do exquisite bodywork; it’s sparkling clean and it stays open daily until 11pm. I often treat myself to a back massage and reflexology.

Joe Allen has been my pre-theater or after-show drink go to for my whole life. It’s reliable, stress free and changes little. It celebrates flops and it just turned 60 (like me). I ate there before I saw A Chorus Line for the first (of eight) times. Original cast.

Everything about Lincoln Center brings joy to my heart. I have so many wonderful memories there. Amazing people work here, the programming is world-class, and there always seems to be something happening that brings the community together. Whether it’s a play, concert, or ballet, I’ve never left disappointed. And in loving memory of our dear friend Ann Dineen, we’ll always cherish our Lincoln Center memories.

I always recommend this restaurant to friends and family before a show. It’s a fabulous restaurant, with a great staff and a super nice owner. They often keep the kitchen open late for Natalie and me, so it’s our go-to spot.
