As Is
When someone wants to meet up for a beer in Hell’s Kitchen, As Is is my absolute go-to. They always have an excellent selection of beers on tap, their cocktails are good, and the atmosphere is totally laid back. It’s hard to go wrong there.

International Grocery
The staff is wonderful and very supportive with great suggestions for what’s good that day. The Taramasalata is the best in the city and the olives are the best in town as well.

Fountain House Gallery
Amazing artists and a supportive community doing incredible things for people living with mental illnesses. I used to teach yoga and meditation in the space when I was a newer teacher. I am still involved in the community, attending openings and purchasing art as gifts for friends from them.

Schmackary's
Best cookies on the planet and everyone who works there is super nice.

VERS
Hell’s Kitchen has some of Manhattan’s most popular Gay/Queer Bars, and VERS is one of my favorites. It’s owned by queer people and has a great staff that I like supporting (it’s SO IMPORTANT to know where your money is going…) AND it’s always a good time. There’s a drag show most nights, piano bar, TV viewings, DJ sets and one of HK’s best food and drink Happy Hours.

Sticky's Finger Joint
My favorite place to eat is Sticky's. I have always been obsessed with Chicken Tenders and this place is truly the best of the best. Crispy, juicy, nuggs with the best assortment of homemade sauces. I highly recommend it.

Oasis Cafe
I go to Oasis Cafe for their desserts. I'm not a huge fan of frosting and I tend to prefer fresh cream on cakes. I've tried a few of their cheesecakes and mousse cakes and they were all creamy and fluffy, not too dense or overly sweet. I also love that they use a custard cream for their tarts. I love their chocolate raspberry cheesecake and black and white mousse cake.

International Grocery
This store is a throwback to the old 9th Avenue, a savory snapshot from years gone by. I love their Greek specialties — stuffed grape leaves, taramasalata, bean salads, feta cheese. It's where I buy my nuts, olives, spices, coffee and olive oil. And the guys who work there are the best.

Clinton Community Garden
Epically serene. We used to live on 48th and 9th so we had a key which was the absolute best! Now we live down a little further so we don’t have a key but when the gates are open to the public I’m there! It’s so private and lush!

Delphinium Home
This place is a treasure trove of trinkets, decor, odds and ends and it makes me so happy. It's my go-to stop for last-minute gifts, cards for all occasions, and other tchotchkes that you didn't know you NEEDED.
