Such a treasure to have in this neighborhood! There’s always a terrific assortment of fabulous shows to be seen at affordable prices. The staff is friendly and on top of things and always treats you well. I’ve recently had a knee injury and was truly appreciative when I got an email telling me the elevator was broken and to come early to the show I’d bought tickets for — they wanted to make sure all their patrons had ample time to safely get to their seats. They always do things the right way.

Concept shows, the space, the rush policy, the decor — and it’s more than just a theater, it’s a community. Plus good drinks and bites.

I have seen some of the most memorable theatre at New World Stages. From Annaleigh Ashford as Maureen in Rent to seeing Avenue Q with my best friend while dressed as the Bad Idea Bears, this place holds so many special memories. I love that there is such a variety of shows playing at all times, and I love that the theaters are small and intimate. The other great part about New World is the courtyard just behind it. It’s one of my favorite places to meet friends in the area if we want to hang outside. There are a few cute places to get food too (RIP Blockheads) if you need something to eat before a show!

Great theater venue with different show options, with unusually good accessibility for this city. I just love going to see live theater.

Dog Man is there now, Altar Boyz was there, and when Peter and the Starcatcher transferred to New World Stages, I went there with it. I’ve directed musicals at the National Alliance for Musicals conference there too. I keep winding back up there.

Not one but five theaters all in one place — a favorite from before I even lived in the neighborhood. Worked there for the first job I had after college (ImaginOcean), as well as on a show that meant a lot to me (Avenue Q).
