Super Size Queen Friday Nights with the One and Only, DJ Mike Borowski was and still is my favorite Friday night outing. For a pop mix of 80s, 90, & today — DJ Mike continues to bring the best sets of the weekend. Special note, his weekly play of The Boss by Diana Ross at 3am on Friday nights was my ritual before COVID (I don’t stay out that late anymore lol)

I don’t go for the drinks, I go for the drag. Hardware has some great up-and-comers. Also, go-go boys and drag queens were practically a twofer back in the day. I go there, sit in the back and watch the new generation of girls taking the stage. I have a good laugh and remember way back when.

Every time I walk in, if Hans Then is working there, he says, “Welcome home!” I used to live across the street from there, and I’ve probably seen hundreds of drag shows there. I belt along while they lip sync and film every moment on my phone. I love every drag bar and every drag show in HK, but Hardware has a special place in my heart.

I have two groups of rainbow friends I meet with here — one for the drag shows and the other for a post-work-week group hang. Great people and memories were made at that place.
