Romeo & Juliet Colombian Coffee

I go here when I crave a home-made empanada and an amazing chai. It’s a cute place and the women working there make it a well-oiled machine. It’s also so nice to sit outside under their umbrellas.

At risk of alienating 95% of your readers, I’ll admit I’m not actually a coffee drinker. That said, my dad and I will go here often to chop it up about art and life. I can vouch for the calming ambience, kind staff, and delicious sandwiches + hot chocolate. My dad can vouch for the coffee.

This coffee shop is one of the most underrated places ever. The ambience is always so welcoming, I love how bright and colorful the furniture is. This is my go-to coffee place because it’s got so much seating! It’s the perfect place for coffee meetings on my work from home days. I also love their toasted cheesy bread, it’s chewy, sweet and savory all at the same time.

A friend of Columbian ancestry first told me about this place and it has become my go-to spot for business meetings since the pandemic. I not only love their mission of bringing their coffee directly here from Columbia but it is muy bueno, as are the various things under the counter, including the enchiladas. Sure, the view out onto W42nd Street is not the most photogenic but inside, inside it is inviting, the staff warm and the decor funky cool.
