Domus became the community focal point that we didn't realize we were so badly lacking. Besides all the stellar home goods, jewelry, toys, and gifts that they carry, the two wonderful people running it, Nicki and Luisa, bring empathy and compassion to what could have been just another store. The gathering of donations for worthy causes and the advocacy for important social issues gave inspiration and awareness. We'll miss them deeply from the block, but they will always have a second home here in our hearts. We're looking forward to being a part of their next chapter! 

The good ladies at Domus gave me one of my first ever shows! They’re wonderful women who support female artisans and craftswomen locally and all over the world. I love going into their store and just looking at all the treasures that they source. Whenever I need a present, a greeting card, or something nice for my apartment, Domus is my destination. The lovely owners give great gift advice, curate a wide array of interesting items and are fun to talk to. And it's literally around the corner.

Domus is such a gorgeous little place to buy gifts and greeting cards, and it’s always my first stop when I’m looking for something unique or special for a friend. They also have the best selection of Christmas tree ornaments — I think almost all of mine are from there.

Nicki and Luisa are delightful and they always have such a great and eclectic collection of merchandise and greeting cards, I never walk out empty handed. Another ‘must stop’ spot on walks with Dior, he knows there are treats waiting for him!

I can always find something that I love or I know someone I know will love. I also like knowing that Nicki and Luisa find items overseas, many from far flung destinations that I haven’t had the opportunity to travel to. It makes shopping there that much more special.

Luisa and Nicki are so incredibly friendly and they have an amazing collection. I always go there for presents and end up buying much more than I needed. I traveled all over the world myself and love that they source unique fair trade products that support local artisans.

For any great institution, its “product” is inseparable from the people that create and operate it. Louisa and Nicki take the time to know their neighbors, and with their impeccable taste, bring in treasures with all of us in mind. It is an incredible luxury to have their warm and caring attention.

A perfectly-curated little gem of a gift shop tucked away on 44th Street. Luisa and Nicki always greet you with a smile and are genuinely wonderful small shop owners and a gift to the neighborhood.

Have anyone in your life who is difficult to shop for? Do you simply have no idea what to get someone for a gift? Go to Domus. They have the item or items you didn’t know you needed. Need examples? Sure! My wife isn’t into traditional jewelry like gold or silver, but yet still likes to wear jewelry. Domus to the rescue with their vegetable ivory selections! As another example, a friend of mine is well-known actor Rizwan Manji. What do you get for him? Domus to the rescue again, here’s a Schitt’s Creek coloring book that has his character in it! What makes Domus really special is that they feel like they’re your own little secret while at the same time being *the* place for savvy Kitcheners to shop. Hard act to pull off, but they do so effortlessly!

A gem of a store. The owners source all the gifts by traveling abroad. And they are delightful. Very European.

Domus is my favorite store in Hell’s Kitchen, and probably my favorite store anywhere. It is beautifully curated and I always manage to find something perfectly unique. Luisa and Nicki make me feel like family every time I go in. They remember the name of my dog, Sugar, and she always gets a little treat. It’s a true gem.

This shop is so special. It’s a perfectly curated place to find the most unique items you never knew you needed. Any time I want the perfect gift, I stop in.
