OK, OK, I know what you’re thinking: YoU hAvE tO sAy ThAt CuZ YoU wOrK tHeRe. But it’s true! Part of the reason I work there is because I love it so much that I even go there on my days off when I need good wine and good tunes. The Pocket Bars are so special because they’re a place where everyone feels welcome and safe to be exactly who they are. The vibe is great, the music is always impeccable and the bartenders are all an absolute joy. Plus we recently added frozen espresso martinis to the menu, to keep you cooled off and energized for all those 90s sing-a-longs.

Suzy Darling is a small business inspiration. It’s remarkable what she’s done with her tiny spaces. They’re much more than having a beer or a glass of wine. She creates an experience. Christmas Eve several years ago, we had dinner at a neighborhood restaurant and had “one more” at Pocket Bar. Suzy showed up dressed as Mrs Claus, with a tray full of hotdogs to share with everyone at the bar. Random? Totally. But it was an unforgettable night.

I loved Pocket Bar but then suddenly so did everyone else and it was always packed so I was very excited when Back Pocket Bar opened.

Pocket Bar and The Back Pocket are great to meet friends and listen to music. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming. I originally heard about both places from W42ST!
