Pier 84 Hudson River Park

Pier 84 is my favorite place to sit and clear my head, particularly in the warmer months, and their dog run is where I taught Yoshi to play fetch. During the summer, I’ll also go kayaking there with Manhattan Kayak.

Nice park, a fountain for the kids to play in, great place to walk dogs, the view of the Intrepid, kayaking and concerts. The grassy area is a nice place for hanging out and getting a little nature.

A dash of green amid the grey. A nice little place to pause during a jog down the bike path — perhaps to decompress after a rat encounter. It’s also become saturated with meaning and history from all the years of spending time there with friends, crushes, books, journals, razor scooters, etc.

A superlative place to spend an evening, watch an eclipse, or enjoy gorgeous views of the river. Such a treasure to have!

I love this pier. It has a gorgeous view of the Intrepid and serves as an area where you can enjoy the Hudson River views and get a glimpse of Midtown. I take clients here for outdoor sessions to feel inspired that we are able to live in such a magical city. It can really inspire the way you think.

Sometimes, I want to see the Hudson River, so I head out to Pier 84. It's got a lot going for it: benches all the way out to the middle of the river, kayak classes that I always wish I had time for, the Intrepid, a dog run, shade. Perfection.

Love the moment of green and people-watching. We walk the pier with our son and dog on most nice evenings. There is always something fun happening: a run, music, a photo shoot, people sunbathing, having a good time.

I love to attend the music and dance events here. I go by myself or with friends for picnics at sunset during the summer. What a blessing it is to have this spot nearby!

Great place to run, get out on the piers, or bike to work downtown. Great view of the Hudson and Manhattan skyline too.

I spent a LOT of time at this pier during the pandemic and have really come to appreciate the riverside tranquility.

It’s probably the closest real park to where I live. If I have all my work done and the weather is nice, I’ll go there for a good dawdle. I love the city, but sometimes I need the green. They have salsa dancing there in summer. It’s fun! There’s even a fountain I can run through.

I love riding my bike to the Hudson River bike path and going to relax by the Pier 84

Great place to walk, run and relax. I enjoy seeing dogs in the dog run and generally relaxed (for Manhattan!) people. Also, I am interested in history and it is pretty amazing to have the Intrepid right there, as well!

I’ve been in the neighborhood a long time, so it’s been pretty incredible to see the piers and paths along the Hudson River transform over the years. Pier 84 is closest to my apartment, so I’ll often just stroll over to sit out on the lawn (sometimes I’ll even drag my cat, Pocket, so she can sit and watch birds), or I’ll just walk over to catch the sunset, look at the Intrepid. I’ve even jumped on a kayak there and ridden it in the river on a gorgeous summer evening. It’s just beautiful.

The revamped dog park is wonderful, the views of the river, great sunsets and lots of green space. It feels like you’re stepping away from the city, once you safely get across the West Side Highway!

I love hanging out at Pier 84/Hudson River Park. It’s right near where I live and I love hanging out there during the sunset.

Some of my favorite nearby waterfront areas remind me how close we are to the recreational and natural areas here. We can have a meal or drinks, walk, bike, kayak or fish, immerse in the wildlife and beautiful greenery, or take a boat ride on the Hudson.

I just love being by the Hudson River and walking my two dogs, Huck and Gulliver. It’s very peaceful over there and I love how they’ve built up these piers into outdoor spaces we can all use and enjoy.

I love taking Val (Valentino) for walks here and also running down the West Side Highway when training for the half. West side is the best side! It is a great place to simply clear your head. 

I love being by the water, the dog park is great for Scuttle. It’s peaceful and beautiful on a nice day. I love that fountain in the summer.

I love being able to sit by the river and enjoy the water. Also, it has Henry’s favorite dog park.

On a nice day, especially in the summer I love walking over to the water by the Pier and grabbing a coffee on the way to get some fresh air and a nice breeze with some beautiful views.

I mentioned Pier 84 earlier, but I’d love to mention it again since it’s so restorative, whether I’m mentally unwinding or catching a cool breeze by the water on a hot day. It usually motivates me to walk further down towards Battery Park (I love to walk!) or up towards Pier i Café along the west side.

This stretch of the Hudson River Park is so peaceful. I love to walk to the end of the pier and watch the waves.

It has been our neighborhood remote island, tanning station, and all-around summer hang out spot.

When I walk to the Hudson on the path next to the grassy knoll and feel the river's breeze wash over me, I feel all is well with the world. I love to watch the graceful sailboats glide by. And before the pandemic, I enjoyed watching the water taxis drop off their passengers. The Hudson River soothes me and when I turn around and see the buildings reaching toward the sky, I'm reminded why my neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen thrills me so.
