I have literally been to Queen of Sheba…maybe 500 times? I used to live around the corner, and I’m sorry, but there is just nothing better than well-made Ethiopian food. My favorites are the kitfo (rare) with extra spicy powder, and the national dish of Ethiopia, doro wat, which includes chicken and an egg in the most delicious sauce. Wash it all down with some tej, Ethiopian honey wine.

Again, walk through a door and end up in Ethiopia. Philipos Mengistu’s passion for his country, food and culture permeates his charming, cozy restaurant. His taking the time to explain all things Ethiopian to me showed his passion and knowledge.

I had never had Ethiopian food before Queen of Sheba, and they have turned me into such a fan. I had a birthday there one year even! Highly suggest the vegetarian combination sampler. I eat meat, and it’s still my favorite! Great to share with two people with samosas as an appetizer.
