Cosmic Diner

The Cosmic Diner on 8th Avenue near 52nd Street is one of those classic Hell’s Kitchen haunts that all of us in the theatre industry frequent and would be devastated to ever lose. I interviewed Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for my book series The Untold Stories of Broadway at Cosmic in 2013, long before they were EGOTs. I had breakfast with my collaborators Joe Iconis and Jason SweetTooth Williams at Cosmic before we picked up copies of the New York Times featuring our show Be More Chill on the front of the Arts section.

I love the staff there, the food is fast and good, and it’s a great place to meet up with someone for coffee. I have always loved a good diner. It feels a little like a few places in my hometown, so I think that’s another reason I like it. I love their curly fries, and they make a perfect grilled cheese. Also, the food comes out in like four minutes and it’s great, I don’t know how they do it!
