Second Stage or 2ST is my favorite NYC non-profit theater. The company operates mainly out of the Kiser Theater (Off-Broadway) on 43rd and 8th and the recently renovated Hayes on 44th between 8th and Broadway. 2ST specializes in new American theater and living playwrights. This is where one of my favorite musicals — Dear Evan Hansen — originated, but everything they produce is innovative and entertaining.

Great facility to discover excellent Off-Broadway theater in a spacious, airy facility. I really appreciate that they still require masks at one performance a week, it’s an accommodation that is so necessary to keep theater accessible for all people.
