NYC has bodegas on every corner. Most are the same — Bite Delight is not. Although I live less than a minute's walk from two delis, I'll always make the three-block walk to see Omar and his brothers for my bacon, egg and cheese on a lightly toasted everything bagel with crispy bacon, extra mayo and ketchup and salt ’n’ pepper, with just a bit of hot sauce on top. And you know what? Not only is it delicious, but it's made exactly how I want it. I've never been disappointed. Plus it's fifty cents cheaper than most of the other bodegas in the neighborhood. How do I know that? I've tried them all! Omar works the morning shift and that's usually when I visit. I don't need to tell him or the short order cook what I want. They know me and that feels good. It's a family owned business and from my conversations over the years with Omar and his brothers, they're a good bunch and a tight family. I'm happy to bring my business there and I hope you will too. But the best thing about Bite Delight is Paulie, their cool bodega cat. I always know it'll be a good day if Paulie comes out to see me.
